I would love to hear from you!

That tight feeling in your chest after a simple request, a text, a favor, a “can you help” is not always the Holy Spirit. Sometimes it is old guilt dressed up in spiritual language, and it keeps us trapped in people pleasing even when we are running on empty. We want to protect our time and energy without becoming selfish, and we want our love to last longer than our stamina.

We slow down and define what a boundary actually is: a limit on what we will carry or allow. Not a wall, not a punishment, not a cold cut-off. We talk about why boundaries and grudges can look similar on the surface, and how the difference shows up over time in motive, steadiness, and honesty. We also name the ways church culture and leadership can accidentally train “endless availability” as faithfulness, leaving us ashamed of limits and suspicious of rest.

Scripture gives us a clearer map than our feelings do. We sit with Galatians 6 and the difference between carrying burdens and carrying loads, then apply it to real life: chronic crisis friendships, family patterns we cannot fix, and the habit of managing other people’s emotions. We connect that to the call to guard your heart in Proverbs and to Jesus’ straightforward invitation to let your yes be yes and your no be no.

Finally, we get practical with small, doable steps to practice a calm no, use a pause before answering, expect reactions without collapsing, and keep building even while you feel shaky. If you found this helpful, subscribe, share it with someone who needs permission to breathe, and leave a review so more people can find the conversation.
